CLOTHING ALARMS...
Have you ever bought clothes at one store that set off the alarm at another store?
I have had this problem a couple of times recently. The security strips are sewn inside fabric tags. Luckily both times it happened I was walking INTO Wal-Mart when it set the alarm off. The first time the greeter smiled and said, “You must have new clothes.” She asked for my jacket, took it to a checkout station and it beeped when she deactivated it. She showed me what looked like a normal tag in the jacket and it had the security device inside of it. I put the jacket back on and went on my way. I went home and cut all the tags that looked like this out of my clothes. There were several in each article of clothing including down the leg of the pants.
The next week I was wearing something different from the same store and went into Wal-Mart. I set the alarm off. Someone was going out at the same time with a lot of bags…so I thought surely it was not I because I had already cut two tags out of the jacket. I was just being paranoid. Down the aisle I decided to check. There it was…a third tag in my jacket. I ripped it out and muttered a few choice words.
I just wish they’d beep when you leave the store where you buy them. After all, isn’t that why they put them in the clothes?

There is nothing more embarrassing than leaving Belk and having it go off all because the lady who checked you out was to lazy to look for the security tag and take it off! UGH!!!
I know Ann Taylor and GAP are both REALLY bad at doing that.
Yep. It was Ann Taylor.
Leroy,
It is bad when they leave one of those clip security tags on and it goes off at the door. You stop and turn to see if someone is coming to help you. Sales reps keep right on working and you have to go find someone to take it off.
Yes - that happened about a month ago to me. I was expecting someone to come tackle me but everyone just kept doing what they were doing. I went to one of the makeup counters and they took it off. They must really LOVE their job!
That happened to me once at Steinmart, with a beach towel of all things. The check-out girl forgot to take of the big, bulky plastic security device and as I was walking out of the store, the beeping started.
The worst thing about it is, the other customers look at you like you're a criminal. Grr.
Even though you know you have paid for it - if you get home...you still can't take the stupid thing off because then it messes up your clothes!!!
This has happened to me before, and you're right... it's So embarrassing!
