I FINALLY SAW TOM JONES...
Sid and I went to the Coast for the Mississippi Press convention recently at the Beau Rivage. We saw Tom Jones in concert and now I know what my mother saw in him or at least heard. He has an amazing voice. A few facts about Tom that I certainly didn’t know…• Tom is 68 and his real name is Thomas Woodward.
• As a child, he suffered tuberculosis and was bedridden for almost two years.
• Tom quit school and worked as a builder’s laborer and a door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman.
• He married at 16 to Linda Trenchard, and they are the parents of a son, Mark who is now his manager.
• Tom and Linda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2007.

I'm impressed. He looks good - especially for 68. And married to the same woman all that time. Wow. That is quite an accomplishment, especially with women swooning all around him for the last four decades.
That is just unbelievable! I wonder if HE can do the Carlton. Now THAT I would like to see :) hahaha

Did you go nuts/scream/etc.?
I didn't scream but it was a lot of fun. He has a great voice and he can really move. It was fun to watch all the women throw their panties on stage.
Ok, I'll take the bait. Did you throw your panties on stage?
No, but it was so much fun to watch older women having a good time. There was women in their '60s and '70s screaming and throwing panties on the stage. It was a lot of fun.
