A LOT TO REMEMBER...
We have our trees up and the house is decorated for Christmas. Sunday, grandson Rowan spent the day with us and watched Polar Express.
It’s fun to see him learn. When he was 2, I asked him the names of the figures in the manger scene. Pointing, he said, “That’s Baby Jesus, Mary and…(he was thinking hard)…Jeff.”

He is 4 now and most everything he does is still cute or funny. He knows everyone in the manger scene including the “three little wise men.” I guess he was thinking of the 10 little Indians. He especially likes the lamb and the angel. A lot to remember…
He’s excited to see gifts under the tree and each time he visits he asks if any are for him. Sid pointed to a big red one and told him that it was for him. Row’s eyes got big and he said, “Well, let’s open it and see what’s in it.”
Sid went on to explain that it was 23 days until he could open it and that he’d have to be a really good boy.
“23 days!” Rowan said.
He was fading fast on the five-minute trip back to his house, so I engaged him in conversation. Expecting him to recite what Sid had told him, I asked him what would happen soon.
“Santa will be coming,” he said.
“What do you have to do?” I asked.
“Be a really good boy,” he said.
“How many days?” I asked.
“A lot,” he moaned.

Sunday was a big day for a lot of folk. ESPECIALLY ME! I stood in line at Best Buy for 4.5 hours to get a Wii for my Aunt to have under the tree for the cousins. It's a really long story - but the lady behind me had to leave and the general manager let me get hers. Well - it's only one per family so when everyone in line saw me getting two I was called every name in the book! And to top it off - the sheriff's deputies had to walk me to my car because people was still walking behind me calling me things no one should be called. So anyway - the girls will get theirs from Santa and the lady behind me got hers yesterday and paid me for it.
To end this long comment - I thank all the parents who do stand in long lines for their kids...but I'm NOT doing it again! Even if I ever do have kids!!!
So you're saying that she had to leave and made arrangements with you to buy it but the people behind you thought that you were being allowed to get two for yourself?
That's bad...you did all that for other people and you were the one getting called names.
Wii were thinking about getting a Wii, but I think I just changed my mind...
Leroy, could you go pick up a couple more? I'll pay you back, I promise!
I've always heard...no good deed goes unpunished.
Sorry I'm just now responding but I have been busy moving - ok...she did give me half the money in cash up front and she came and picked it up the next morning at my office.
And my aunt called me Tuesday and asked me if I wanted to go stand in line at Chick-fil-a that opened this morning because the first 100 got sandwiches free for a year.
I told her she had lost her mind!!!
