Neshoba County Fair: Grandson goes to the races...
There is so much for children to enjoy at the Neshoba County Fair. My daughter and her husband brought my grandson, Rowan, to the cabin on Saturday night and they all spent the night and left Sunday afternoon. Sid and I took Rowan to the midway. He loved riding the little cars and motorcycles and boats on the midway.I told him about the antique car show that would take place on Sunday morning and he went to sleep talking about it. The next morning, Sid put him on his shoulders and took him around to see the old cars, trucks, hot rods and motorcycles. As we walked, Rowan would point out the cars he recognized. He really liked the old Mustangs and the motorcycles.
But after the walk around the Square, Rowan began counting the minutes until the midway opened so he could return to the rides. This time, we rode the same little cars, but also rode a black horse on the carousel.
Then, it was back to the Square and Rowan wanted to be pulled in his red wagon.
Later, we all went to the harness races down at the track. Sid and Rowan both love the races.
They both think themselves able to pick the winners and it was a contest to see which one of them got madder when their horse wasn't in the winner's circle.
We had a wonderful day, but when it was over, Sid said : "For the first time, I understand that old saying about being glad to see your grandchildren come and being glad to see them leave, too!"

I bet for him, it's like living at the carnival. My daughter always enjoys it too, especially the farris wheel. :)
They didn't have a farris wheel! Who should we call and complain to?
I don't know but that was a shame. You need the ferris wheel to look out over the Fair.
